EMRAD is able to harness the power of ‘big data’ in continuing to improve radiology services – having five billion images securely stored from 48 million patient examinations as at the end of October 2023.

EMRAD has 2.3 petabytes of data stored - a petabyte (PB) being equivalent to one million gigabytes (GB). If the data stored by EMRAD was placed on CDs, it would produce a tower eight times the height of the Empire State Building
